The Dreaming is
a very prominent, permanent work of public art that is integrated
into the east wall of the old FSK Hotel, located across from
the Weinberg Center for the Arts. The work is located
at the cultural heart of the city and is protected over time
by an easement held by Frederick County. Donor recognition
opportunities include the bronze plaque that will be permanently
installed at the heart of the downtown.
The Dreaming is
unusual because the community itself has helped shape the
meaning and design of the art, amplifying the project's power
as a cultural, educational and social catalyst. The project
weaves a strong thread of cultural vitality and community
engagement into the heart of the city, reclaiming its identity
as a center for arts and craftsmanship, drawing visitors downtown,
expanding cultural participation, strengthening arts and business
organizations and celebrating Frederick as a place where human
imagination has burned brightly for centuries.
We need your financial

the imagination of Frederick County residents to build community
