Concept Image

The Dreaming is a new work of public art from the creators of Community Bridge. The Dreaming celebrates the cultural history of Frederick and explores the power of the imagination. Artists and poets will work to transform dreams described by the community into a single, elegant visual statement.

The Dreaming will weave a strong thread of vitality and community engagement into the cultural heart of the city, reclaiming its identity
as a center for arts and craftsmanship. Our hope is that it will expand cultural participation, strengthen arts and business organizations and celebrate Frederick’s identity as the crossroads of culture.

Be a part of it. How can I contribute?

This page will be updated with new streaming video presentations on The Dreaming as they become available. Our goal is to provide the clearest window into the project as it continues to evolve, both as an update and a warm invitation to the community and to historians to help correct, enlarge, and expand upon the information presented. Please contact us with comments, criticisms or additions by using the "Be a Part of It" box to the lower left.

We hope to install The Dreaming in Spring 2007, but we do not yet have sufficient funds to finish this unprecedented artwork and community asset. You can become an important part of this ground-breaking project by contributing financially.

We express our deep gratitude to the following who have generously provided advice and expertise to build this project:
