Concept Image

The Dreaming is a new work of public art from the creators of Community Bridge. The Dreaming celebrates the cultural history of Frederick and explores the power of the imagination. Artists and poets will work to transform dreams described by the community into a single, elegant visual statement.

The Dreaming will weave a strong thread of vitality and community engagement into the cultural heart of the city, reclaiming its identity
as a center for arts and craftsmanship. Our hope is that it will expand cultural participation, strengthen arts and business organizations and celebrate Frederick’s identity as the crossroads of culture.

Be a part of it. How can I contribute?
Educators

Welcome Educators!

Many aspects of The Dreaming translate well into the classroom and support the Frederick County and Maryland State educational objectives. Shared Vision is working with curriculum specialists and classroom teachers to develop classroom activities, lesson plans and unit plans in the Visual & Performing Arts, Social Studies and English/Language Arts, as well as other areas. They will be downloadable as pdf files and will contain links to help you find specific information throughout this web site. For more information on this project, view the streaming video presentation from this event here.

If you are a curriculum specialist or educator and would like to help in this effort to make The Dreaming easily accessible to classroom teachers, providing for them innovative lesson plans that directly support the curriculum and also directly relate to current events in larger community, please contact Teresa Cochran at teresa.cochran@adelphia.net or 301.696.2839.
